A new paper I am involved with has just appeared on early cite. It is called ‘The promises and pitfalls of prime provider models in service delivery: The next phase of reform in Australia‘. It was written with some great colleagues – Wilma Gallet, Janine O’Flynn and Siobhan O’Sullivan. It will appear in the controversies section of the Australian Journal of Public Administration.
This paper is based on some research that we conducted with colleagues from the Brotherhood of St Laurence analysing the evidence-base for prime provider models in the delivery of public services. In this controversy piece we analyse whether prime provider models represent the next major phase of reform in public services and what the evidence for these models suggests.
